there's a few small cracks in the ceiling
nothing a little paint won't fix
and that little room off of the kitchen
would be perfect when we have kids
it's got a sound foundation
now it's time to put our roots in the earth

we can roll-up our sleeves together
and knock down a wall or two
we can put in a few new windows
let a little more light shine through
there's a garden out back overgrown with weeds
where we can plant seeds in the dirt

our love's as strong as these boards made from georgia pine
we'll weather every storm and stand up to the test of time 

it's gonna take tenderness and patience
and a whole lot of sacrifice
we're gonna make tit all we dreamed of
through sharing and compromise
